The big new feature in this release is native control over conventional lighting fixtures. Fixtures without pan and tilt can now be controlled and used with features such as Zones. In addition a static beam size can be used (for Fixtures without automated beam options) so features such as Dynamic Beam Zones can be used with static fixtures. In addition to QOL updates and several bug fixes, this version also changes the way Zones are sent over RTTrPM to be more consistent with the rest of the protocol.
Feb. 27, 2020
Several bug fixes from v2.4.0 and some new features. Zones over RTTrPM, multi-Chapter selection, and a new border around Beacons to clearly show visible status are all included in this release.

May. 4, 2018
2.3.2 BETA brings several refinements and bug fixes to Portfolio Manager and adds an all new animated splash screen. Pan-Flip timing is also included in this release, which allows you to slow down the speed of a pan flip (up to 10 seconds) during Fixture Calibration. This is designed to combat fixtures that are hung from unstable lighting positions, where a normal (fast) pan-flip would cause the position to shake (like a dead hung truss for example).
Feb. 2, 2018
In this next version of 2.3, we are adding a long requested feature and a required building block in future features: Portfolio Manager. Portfolios are a collection of projects (BlackTrax and BTWYG) that allow easy linking between files, easy transfer of those files, and allows the addition of features such as autosave, save archiving, and reverting projects which are all in this release.
Dec. 15, 2017
An early preview of our next major version of BlackTrax. This version includes Dynamic Zones (the ability to attach a Zone to a Trackable and have the Trackable’s position and orientation update the location of the Zone) and a new troubleshooting tool called System Status so that you may view internal network connections of BTEngine as well as perform latency tests on your RTTrPM outputs.

Oct. 13, 2017
BTWYG is now based off of R39 Update 1. In addition, bug fixes for Auto Douse and Zones, and the removal of Pan-Flip Dimming’s disabling option (timing is still available).
Oct. 13, 2017
Improvements for dynamic decaying of the centroid for Centroid Jump Smoothing, and bug fixes for Auto Douse and Smooth Pickups.
Sep. 8, 2017
BTWYSIWYG R39 is now included in this release, in addition to bug fixes and improvements to many of the features introduced in v2.2.0. These include Fixture Groups and Importing Outputs as well as improvements to how beam calculations are handled for sizing and Beam Collision Zones.
This version also removes support for Trackable Centroid Type due to lack of use and conflicts with other features.
Jul. 28, 2017
This version introduces a new smoothed Centroid solver, to gradually fade Centroids when LEDs become hidden instead of snapping between points. LEDs and Centroids are now visible in BTWYG’s LIVE Shaded View so you can easily view groups of Beacons (based on colour) which makes creating and managing Rigid Bodies even easier.
Based on feedback from v2.1, two new features have been added to Output Configuration – Import/Export of the outputs in a project and per Trackable smoothing, so each Beacon can receive a unique smoothing value instead of on a global level.
There are many other features that help improve the daily workflow of BlackTrax including Fixture Groups, adding Output Configuration to the toolbar, and having Messages always appearing on top of other widgets.
Jun. 9, 2017
Includes BlackTrax System Update 2.1.3.

Several bug fixes, focusing mostly on improvements to Output Configuration and BTEngine module syncing. This update also upgrades BTWYG to R38 which includes truss mirroring, importing fixtures from a spreadsheet, auto grouping for fixture groups, library additions, and all other features of regular WYSIWYG R38.
In addition, all new BlackTrax projects and template files include template BTWYG BTX information, meaning users don’t need to import a BTWYG project’s information before using BlackTrax. This will help customers who use BlackTrax primarily for third party use get the system up and running quicker.
Release Notes for 2.1.1 Release Candidate
Mar. 3, 2017
Big updates to the usability of BlackTrax with the removal of Tracker, Follower, and Tracking Adapter’s GUIs. IMPORTANT: This release requires a BTServer running version July 2016 or later. Legacy servers (Windows 7) and servers with versions prior to July 2016 must download the latest BlackTrax Server Imaging Utility (which includes 2.0.5) instead of this download. Both are accessible from the Member’s Only Downloader.

Bug fixes. Downloading installations has changed from ‘Primary’ and ‘Secondary’ downloads to ‘Update Package’ and ‘Complete Package’. A Complete Package includes all installers for BlackTrax, BTWYG, and Motive. An Update Package only includes the installers for the programs that were updated since the last release.
Motive has changed their coordinate system from a left hand coordinate to a right hand coordinate system. BlackTrax will convert the coordinate system automatically back to a left hand coordinate system for use with third party clients to maintain system compatibility. No change should be noticed, and you may set the ground plane in the same orientation as before. We still ask however that you please verify all connecting technologies to BlackTrax (lighting, multimedia, etc) due to this change.

This is the final release of BlackTrax version 1.5. This version addresses several bugs and usability concerns as well as adding some polish to existing features. We are currently in the process of personally updating our users to the latest server management policy (which allows our users to update BlackTrax themselves), which means CAST will be involved in helping our users to update to this release. After all users are updated, we will post the final version here as well as all future versions of BlackTrax.
